Oh darling don’t you ever grow up, just stay this little! If only it where that easy? AHH, I wish. Also, thanks to T – Swift for “Never grow up.” Seriously cannot look at this whimsical sibling photo session of my kiddos without tears in my eyes, since that song is on repeat in my head every time I think about those babies.
I’m sure everyone thinks since I’m a photographer I have tons of photos of my kids and our family stashed away, ready to pull out at any moments notice. Hmmm, guilty! “Tons” might not even be the right word, at this point 18,000+ photos just on my phone. Dating back to when my first baby was born in 2015. Numbers aside I want you to understand before I am a photographer, I am a wife and mom!
If I never picked up my camera again professionally I would 100% continue to document my babies and our family and not just because behind the camera is my happy place. These moments with them are without a doubt the most priceless treasure to me, tangible memories equally the same. I know they will become even more important to my kids, and maybe *fingers crossed* my future grand-babies!
Even the “not blog worthy”, messy faced, dirty feet photos of my kids. The blurry out of focus ones that I am sometimes so annoyed that they won’t sit still for just ONE. Yeah, photographers child syndrome is a real thing folks. I don’t get those picture perfect shots of my own kids all the time. But you know what? I am thankful for every – single – photo!!
So, the purpose of this post is too of course share my babies whimsical sibling photo session with you but also to hopefully share something else. Mom to mom, or whoever you are reading this.. just know how one simple thing can be so incredibly important. I get it, hiring a professional photographer multiple times a year isn’t always feasible. But getting professional photos once or maybe every other year is so worth the investment. Also, while I’m all for living in the moment, PLEASE between your sessions, every day just take a few seconds to snap some photos of your loved ones, your babies, heck even yourself. Even if they don’t seem “social media worthy” I promise you, they are SO special.
